Karasuma is a member of the STN-J. They are a group that hunts witches, and often employ witches, or at least people who are related to them, or have powers. Karasuma happens to be a Psychic.
Perhaps a more appropriate word to describe her by would be an Empath. Karasuma is 19 years old, and possesses the power of Psychometry. In other words, she can sense things by touching people, objects or
visiting places.
Karasuma has a good relationship with several other characters in the show. In fact, Karasuma seems to have a good relationship with almost everyone, even Amon.
Despite her age, Karasuma is extremely mature, and later when the need arises she even acts as team leader, to keep everything running smoothly.

As stated before, Karasuma is what you might call an Empath, and the name seems fitting to me.
